In a few months, you’ll hear songs from a new album from one of the founders of the Black Crowes, giving you the feeling that the Black Crowes have reunited. The Crowes have not gotten back together, but instead what you’ll be hearing is original member Rich Robinson and his spinoff band The Magpie Salute.

Chris and his brother Rich Robinson grew up together in suburban Atlanta, yearning to be rock stars. Little did they know that in getting their wish granted, they would also be at each other’s throats the entire time, eventually breaking the Black Crowes up.

Now the Magpie Salute, Rich Robinson’s spinoff group has announced intentions to release the band’s latest album this year, which also means another tour. Marc Ford, the ex-Crowes guitarist is also on board this year. Magpie Salute began in 2016 as a Rich Robinson solo project, releasing an album and touring from 2016 on, but the vibe of this band is stronger this year, with a real commitment by Rich to make some real noise.
