Former second generation Temptations member Dennis Edwards (he joined the group in 1968 after David Ruffin left) sadly passed away at the age of 75 in Chicago. Police investigating his death initially ruled his death by complications of meningitis, but now say it appears he was abused right before his death, and consider this to be an open investigation.

Brenda Edwards, his wife of 18 years has had personal safety issues with Dennis in the past, and more recently the Healthcare Consortium of Illinois placed a protection order request on behalf of Dennis Edwards.

“Papa Was a Rollin’ Stone” was a psychedelic tune from 1972 that was longer than most singles, used new studio techniques, and is considered by the Temptation members to be the last great song the band recorded. The song was a cover of the Undisputed Truth original.

“I Can’t Get Next to You” is a Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong song, and peaked at number one in 1969, and was one of the best-selling singles sales wise.
