Our Favorite Ozzy Tunes

Ozzy Osbourne, the frontman for the legendary band Black Sabbath, has announced he’s leaving the road with his final tour called ‘No More Tours 2’ getting underway in April in Jacksonville Florida. Ozzy’s a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Black Sabbath (2006) but let’s share what we think are his best solo tunes…

“Crazy Train” from the 1980 ‘Blizzard of Oz’ LP, his debut solo effort, and is one of the most identifiable songs from his archive. Sadly, two years later, Randy Rhoads the guitarist that gave us that incredibly familiar hook would die at the age of 25 in a plane crash; he was buzzing the tour bus when the wings clipped the bus and hit a house behind the bus.

“Mama, I’m Coming Home” from 1991 proved that Ozzy had the talent to hang around for more than a few years. This song proved to be Osbourne’s only solo charted top 40 single. Motorhead’s Lemmy was brought in to write lyrics for the song and album.

“No More Tears” from 1991 remains a classic tune for a few important reasons; it charted better in the UK than in the USA, and was the last Ozzy LP to have Randy Castillo and bassist Bob Daisley in the studio with the band.
