Pop star Jason Mraz has extended his run on Broadway in the play ‘Waitress,’ opposite Sara Bareilles. Jason has played Dr. Pomatter for a period of time, expecting to move on to his first love music at the end of the run, but the show at the legendary Brooks Atkinson Theatre had been so successful it’s been extended through February 11th.
Wait, there’s more Jason Mraz news; Jason will be performing at the upcoming ‘I Create Music,’ held at the Lowes Theater on May 7th, 8th, and 9th, and he’s jazzed to be invited. The event is designed to allow writers, producers, composes, and musicians to gather for the purpose of celebrating the music industry.
There are nearly 700,000 members in the ASCAP organization, and this expo is their annual event. The ASCAP board members read like a who’s who of stars in the publishing world, and at the expo, there will be workshops, mini-concerts and lots of business conversations.
