Billy Joel Keeps Setting Records

From 1974 on, can you name the single artist who has played Madison Square Garden the most? The answer is Billy Joel. This July 18th, Billy will perform at MSG for the 100th time! Tickets for the event were just made available. We’re definitely going to be trying to go to that one.

Here are a few things you may not have known about Billy Joel… How about starting it off with the fact that his birth name is actually William Martin Joel!

He was at Woodstock in 1969 but didn’t hang around to hear Jimi Hendrix, a decision he now regrets. Yes, the song “Big Shot” was about Mick Jagger’s ex-wife Bianca.

Billy confessed to friends and the press a few years ago that he’s not the least bit interested in writing new songs or recording a new album. Considering his net worth is just north of $160 million, he may never need to write another new song.
