The Oscars nominations were announced this week, with a few surprises James Franco was shut out, not nominated for an Oscar in spite of his groundbreaking performance in ‘The Disaster Artist.’ This kind of snub may have been caused by alleged sexual harassment charges. Also excluded from receiving an Oscar this year were Tiffany Haddish for her work in “Girls Trip” Holly Hunter who dazzled in “The Big Sick” and Hong Chau in “Downsizing.”

Although the movie ‘The Post’ received a nomination for ‘Best Picture’ and Meryl Streep, who plays famed publisher Katharine Graham, director Steven Spielberg did not get the nomination nod for ‘Director.’ The movie ‘Wonder Woman’ received no nominations in any category, in spite of being the third highest grossing picture of the year.

The 2018 the Academy Awards will air live March 4th with host Jimmy Kimmel on ABC.
