2017 was the year of hip-hop and R&B and after the first week of 2018, we think you can expect more of the same this year. While the very top of the Artist 100 chart from Billboard doesn’t feature hip-hop and R&B’s best, there are plenty within the top 10.

It’s all led by Post Malone at number four, who was in this position last week. He is followed by Eminem on the chart at the fifth position. Eminem was the top dog last week but has fallen. Cardi B sits at number seven, her best finish in weeks and a major improvement from last week’s 16 ranking. The final artist inside the top 10 from one of these two genres is Kendrick Lamar, who may have had the biggest 2017 of them all. He sits at number nine.

Huncho Jack, Beyonce, Khalid, Bruno Mars and 21 Savage are all inside the top 20 and knocking at the top 10’s door. Will they get in next week? We’ll have to wait and find out!
