There are fewer shopping days than you think there are to Christmas, and your local radio station has probably begun playing holiday music. Here are our top five Christmas tunes…

“Step Into Christmas” by Elton John is a wonderful example of an original Elton/Bernie song from 1973 that remains timeless. The song is well produced and well sung if you ask us.

“Jingle Bell Rock” from Bobby Helms is an all-time classic, recorded in 1957. The song has been used in countless Hollywood films, including ‘Home Alone 2,’ ‘Lethal Weapon,’ and ‘Mean Girls.’

“Happy Xmas (War is Over)” John Lennon’s cerebral 1971 holiday tune was written and recorded at the St. Regis Hotel in New York City. The song remains a cult favorite.

“Run Rudolph Run” by Chuck Berry from 1958 and remains a holiday standard today. We honor Chuck who died this year at the age of 90.

Honorable mentions to Paul McCartney and “Wonderful Christmas,” “White Christmas” by Drifters or Bing Crosby, “Blue Christmas” from Elvis, “Santa Clause is Coming to Town” by Bruce Springsteen and any of the holiday songs from the Beach Boys.
