Your Favorite Album Turns 50 Next Year

Time flies when you’re having fun, and 1967 seems like the blink of an eye. What were the top albums of 1968 that will be celebrating a 50th birthday in 2018?

The Beatles, who enjoyed a 50th birthday party for their LP ‘Sgt. Peppers’ last year, will have another 50th birthday party for “Magical Mystery Tour,” released in the winter of 1967. The ‘White Album,’ is also 50 next year, released in December of 1968.

The soundtrack of the movie ‘The Graduate’ which featured many Simon and Garfunkel songs “The Sound of Silence,” and “Mrs. Robinson” was released in the spring of 1968, propelling the boys to rarified air.

‘Beggars Banquet’ from the Rolling Stones was released in December of 1968, making it eligible for a 50th birthday party in 2018. “Sympathy for the Devil” and “Street Fighting Man,” were heavily played when the album was released.
