The 80s may have been one of the most interesting decades of all time. Lady Diana and Charles the Prince of Wales were married, Band Aid records “Do They Know It’s Christmas,” and the Space Shuttle Challenger disintegrated after takeoff; all memorable news events in the 1980s.

80s music was equally as entertaining, with hair bands, the 2nd British invasion, and the rise of the super groups Journey and Guns N’ Roses. What might be considered the best songs of the 80s? Here’s our humble list…

“Don’t Stop Believing” – Journey
“Another One Bites the Dust” – Queen
“You Shook Me All Night Long” – AC/DC
“I Love Rock ‘N’ Roll” – Joan Jett & The Blackhearts
“Eye of the Tiger” – Survivor
“Sweet Child O’ Mine” – Guns N’ Roses
“Walk This Way” – Run-D.M.C.
“Every Breath You Take” – The Police
“Don’t You Want Me?” – The Human League
“In the Air Tonight” – Phil Collins
“Tainted Love” – Soft Cell
“Sweet Dreams” – Eurythmics
“Sweet Child O’ Mine” – Guns N’ Roses
“Call Me” – Blondie
“Whip It” – Devo

There are multiple Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees in this list, with the birth of perhaps the greatest rock anthem of all time in “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey hitting the charts.
