Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Springsteen on Broadway’ at the legendary Walter Kerr Theater is well underway, receiving terrific reviews. The Broadway show gives us an excuse to share more Boss info, so here goes nothing…
Although Bruce wrote “Blinded By the Light” appearing on his debut LP ‘Greetings from Asbury Park’, the song was a perfect fit for the Manfred Mann Earth Band, hitting number one on the charts. Bruce also wrote and gave the Pointer Sisters “Fire,” which proved to be a solid gold record for the ladies.
Yes, Bruce Springsteen has been married twice. For a brief period of time, he was married to actress Julianne Phillips in the mid-80s, but his true love and soul mate has always been considered to be his current wife and band mate Patti Scialfa; the couple has three children.
History was made in 1975, as for the very first time, a rock star appeared on the covers of Newsweek and Time magazines at nearly the same time. Rock critic John Landau (and eventual manager) indicated Bruce was the future of rock and roll.
