Here are a few ‘One Hit Wonder Songs’ that still sound good today…

In the mid-80s a fabulous song from a two-person group called ‘Boy Meets Girl’ hit the charts with a catchy song called ‘Waiting for a Star to Fall.” Their song is one of the best examples of what we call a ‘One Hit Winder” – songs that hade their 15 minutes of fame from a lucky singer or band, then disappeared into the night never to be heard from again. They also wrote the songs “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” and “How Will I Know” for Whitney Houston.

London club DJ Sonique was popular in the mid-90s as a hip and rocking nightlife DJ, but was an aspiring singer, working nights in the clubs, writing songs and trying to get signed during the day. She hit it big in 1998 with her one and only hit single “It Feels So Good.”

“Breakfast at Tiffany’s” by Deep Blue Something hit the charts in the 90s. This Denton TX band driven by brothers Toby and Todd Pipes sued their label after the song, and then went into the night never to be heard from again.
