The country music industry is still reeling from the death of Troy Gentry and Don Williams last week. This week it was reported that the helicopter Troy Gentry flew had mechanical problems moments before it crashed, hovering hundreds above the ground, waiting for the fire department to arrive. The helicopter crash killed Troy and a yet to be identified person Friday of last week near the Flying W Airport in Medford.

A celebration of Troy’s life has been scheduled for Thursday morning at The Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. Troy leaves behind wife Angie Gentry and daughters Kaylee and Taylor. Rather than flowers, the Gentry family has asked that donations in Troy’s name be made to the American Red Cross in its hurricane relief efforts. Services will be streamed at opry.com/troy-gentry.
