You would expect Childish Gambino to be pretty tired, having appeared in nearly a dozen films and TV shows, but no! His latest single “Redbone” is making all kinds of noise on the charts. Although Childish Gambino was born Edwards Air Force Base in California, he was raised in suburban Atlanta where his parents encouraged creativity and big dreams. Here are a few things you may not have known about Childish Gambino.
His first big break came in 2006 where he was given the job as a writer for the television show ’30 Rock.’ He would make guest appearances on ’30 Rock’ before landing a reoccurring role on ‘Community.’ While writing and getting air time as an actor, he recorded indie music on the side, dreaming of making it as a singer.
Childish Gambino has sold millions of records, but has also earned Critics Choice, Comedy, Writers Guild of America, and Golden Globe awards along the way.
