How Dustin Lynch Came to Be a Star

Dustin Lynch is near the top of the Country music charts with his great tune “Small Town Boy,” and it gives us a wonderful chance to get to know Dustin better. Dustin was born in Tullahoma, Tennessee, and began playing guitar at a very early age. Then for some reason, he dropped playing music altogether until he was in his late teens.

On a lark he decided to play at an open mic in Nashville; the crowd loved what they heard so he thought to start a band, but simultaneously go to school at Lipscomb University (the university was close to a country café, giving him the opportunity to play and study). Although he earned a degree at Lipscomb, a B.S in biology, and gave serious consideration to going to medical school, he’s never looked back choosing song over medicine.

If it weren’t for one night in Nashville at an open mic night, we’d never know his great music.
