It feels like a Monday, but it’s actually the day after Tuesday which makes this a short work week. Here are a few music news headlines to get you to Wednesday…

Annie Lennox will be honored with the ‘George Harrison Global Citizen Award’ at this year’s Global Citizen Live! event, Monday, September 18, in New York City. She’s being recognized for her accomplishments in activism and music in her career.

A judge has stopped Artimus Pyle and his production company from moving forward with a film that deals with Lynyrd Skynyrd and that fateful 1977 crash. It seems the members signed an agreement years ago that allowed each to write a book of make a movie about their own experiences within the group but prohibits 2nd person or accounts that are in film or book that is not specifically permitted.

If you’re a Metallica fan you’ll be pleased to learn that the bands epic ‘Master of Puppets’ will be reissued before the holidays. The Yardbirds will be releasing a new album with previously unheard music in early November; ‘Yardbirds ’68’ contains “Live at Anderson Theater,” and “Studio Sketches,” a collection of the alternate version of their songs recorded around that time.
