It’s likely John Lennon’s last autograph was his 1980 release Double Fantasy signed for Mark David Chapman, just a few hours before Mark would assassinate John outside his New York apartment.

The LP was just auctioned off for a truly sick $1.5 million dollars. What are a few other strange auction items in rock history? John’s acoustic guitar heard on the early singles “She Loves You,” “I Saw Her Standing There,” “All My Loving” and “I Want to Hold Your Hand” went for $2.4 million dollars.

A lock of hair from Elvis Presley went for $15,000 in a Chicago auction last year. It’s suspected to have been sheared off during his induction into the Army from the late 50s.

The big drum skin seen on the cover of the Beatles ‘Sgt. Peppers Lonely Heart Club’ LP was actioned off for an undisclosed amount of money. We have no idea where the successful bidder would put it.

Prince’s black-and-gray motorcycle jacket from his iconic 1984 movie ‘Purple Rain,’ and Janis Joplin’s 1965 Porsche 356C Cabriolet have also been wildly popular auction items.
