In keeping up with the theme of talking college football as the season is just a few days ago, it has been announced that two big names in the coaching world of year’s past are going to be honorary captains for a big game. Come September 2, West Virginia and Virginia Tech will face off and in that game previous legendary coaches of theirs will be the honorary captains.

For Virginia Tech that honorary captain will be Frank Beamer, who recently coached the squad two seasons ago. For West Virginia this honor will be given to Don Nehlen. These two coached against each other for many years when both schools were in the Big East and combined have a total of 482 wins!

West Virginia will be playing Virginia Tech September 2 from FedEx Field in Washington D.C. The winner will be given the Black Diamond Trophy. The last two times these teams was 2004 and 2005, both games the Hokies were victorious.
