MTV VMA Fun Facts to Enjoy

The 2917 MTV Video Music Awards were announced last week, reminding all of us of the long tradition of unexpected moments and scandals. The MTV Video Music Awards are live in TV Sunday, August 27th, 8pm on MTV.

The first VMA Awards were held in 1984 in NYC at the Radio City Music Hall. Lady Gaga wore an ‘all meat’ dress in 2010. Eminem performed with 50 ‘look a likes behind him.

At the 1st VMA ceremony, Michael Jackson earned three awards, but the performer to win more was Herbie Hancock. Pink confessed later that she was drunk when she won her award.

In 2001, Brittney Spears came out with a live seven-foot Python around her neck. In 1996, Van Halen reunited with estranged lead singer David Lee Roth. Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke cause a stir with Miley ‘twerked’ her way to censorship.
