The wait is over and now the city of Los Angeles can celebrate! They will be hosting the 2028 Summer Games! Hosting the Olympics in 2028 means that the city will have done so three times. The other two times were the 1932 and 1984 Olympics.
Los Angeles and Paris were battling for these games with the west coast city winning just the other day. With this win for Los Angeles, Paris will now be hosting the 2024 Olympics.
One of the big things that everyone is talking about is money and in a good way this time for a host city. The Olympics notoriously leave the host city with debt, but this time they are doing things to help offset that. The International Olympic Committee is waiving $50 million in fees among other things to help the host city out this time around.
