Randy Newman is one of the most successful artists you simply don’t know much about. His hit “Short People” in 1977 was a moderate hit, and his 1983 song “I Love L.A” was a top 40 tune, but frankly he’s been a bigger success in films and on Broadway.

Randy has won two Academy Awards, five Grammys for his work in soundtracks for films, and has earned three Emmy’s for his work in television. As a songwriter, he’s written hits for Jackie DeShannon, The O’Jays Gene Pitney, Jerry Butler, Petula Clark, Tom Petty and Dusty Springfield,
