There’s sad news out of Los Angeles today as Chester Bennington, lead singer and front man of the popular band Linkin Park, has been found dead.

Details are incomplete, but the LA Medical Examiner has indicated that it appears to be ‘death by suicide.’ Authorities found his body at his apartment in the LA suburb of Palos Verdes Estates around 9am local time Thursday morning.

Although energetic and charismatic while on stage, Chester’s past was quite dark; an earlier life he was open to share to those that would listen. Chester’s parents divorced when he was 11, and he’s battled drug abuse and suspected depression for years.

Chester is survived by his wife and 6 children, and was 41 at the time of his death.
