O.J. Simpson, former NFL superstar and current Nevada prison inmate of nearly nine years, has just been granted parole by the Nevada parole board in a 4/0 unanimous verdict. O.J., 70, had been serving time behind bars at Lovelock Correctional Facility in Nevada, convicted in 2008 of kidnapping and armed robbery.

Like the murder trial many years ago, the world nearly stopped during the parole. Twitter was buzzing non-stop throughout the hearing.

O.J. is in both the College Football and NFL Halls of Fame. O.J. Simpson is expected to be physically released from prison in October.
