The Greatest Female Athletes Recognized at the ESPYs

The ESPYs took place the other night and there were many women recognized for their greatness in sports. We were so proud of everyone who won an award on Wednesday night, but how about the female winners?! They were amazing!

Simone Biles took home two awards including one of the biggest of them all, Best Female Athlete. Not surprisingly, the star Olympian would win the Best Female U.S. Olympic Athlete award as well.

Serena Williams is one of the greatest female tennis players of all-time and just Wednesday night she took home the award for Best Female Tennis Player. Her competition was stiff, but she’s just too good! Monica Puig, Jelena Ostapenko and Angelique Kerber were also up for this one.

Anna Gasser is a well-known snowboarder and she proved it by winning the Best Female Action Sports Athlete at the ESPYs. Ariya Jutanugarn is dominant in her sport as well winning the Best Female Golfer award. Candace Parker of the Los Angeles Sparks took home the Best WNBA Player award. Florida softball player Kelly Barnhill won the Best Female College Athlete award.

Finally, the Best Upset award went to the women of Mississippi State basketball who beat the UConn Huskies in last year’s national championship.
