She was born Julia Carin Cavazos in Davenport, IA in 1993, but we know her as Julia Michaels, breaking the ‘Top 15’ position on the charts with her latest song “Issues.” Okay, so Julia was born in Iowa, but did you know that at a very early age she and her family moved to Santa Clarita, California, where she literally found her singing voice at the age of 12?
Like many before her, she was a prolific writer, handing off hit songs to stars like Demi Lovato and Fifth Harmony before striking out on her own as a solo act. Julia has been nominated for a Billboard Music Award and shares that Fiona Apple, Fray and Lisa Mitchell were early inspirations to her desires to be a star.
