If you remain relevant and continue to generate great music, odds are your peers will honor you. Recently it was announced that Graham Nash, Van Morrison, Robert Cray, Iris DeMent, HighTone Founders Larry Sloven and Bruce Bromberg are scheduled to be honored at the 2017 Americana Music Association’s℠ 16th Annual Honors & Awards, September 13th at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.
Graham will receive the ‘Lifetime, Spirit of Americana – Free Speech in Music Award’ for his decades of service and work, while Van Morrison will receive the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award for Song writing.’ Robert Cray will be honored with the association’s ‘Lifetime Achievement for Performance’ Award.
The 2017 Americana Music Festival is an annual event in Nashville, set for September 12th through the 17th. Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium will be the setting, and the ceremonies typically bring out the greatest country, pop, rock, and recording executives for the festivities.
