The Impact of the Trade Between the 76ers and Celtics

It was just last week that we talked about free agency within the NBA offseason and boy did things get interesting this past weekend. The 76ers made a big trade with the Celtics that essentially resulted in the 76ers having the first pick, the Celtics the third pick as well as plenty of ammo for a trade with the Chicago Bulls if they so please.

The Celtics were in an odd position with their best player being a a point guard and the clear number one pick being of the same position, Markelle Fultz from Washington. Now, the Celtics have a plethora of first round picks to use as bait to get Jimmy Butler, the star many believe the Celtics need to compete with the Cavs in the 2017-2017 season. Will the Celtics make another big move before it’s the draft on Thursday? Will it come later in the offseason and contain those first round picks in 2018 and 2019? Only time will tell, but things just got a lot more interesting in the NBA.
