How about some mid-week Country music news headlines?

Glen Campbell, our Rhinestone Cowboy, is entering the 7th stage of Alzheimer’s disease share his daughter and wife on national television this week. Glen’s ability to speak or use the human language has greatly diminished; he’s physically stable but weak. That’s not the real news – the real news is that he’s releasing his 64th and last LP called ‘Adios’ with many of his children on the songs.

Norro Wilson, one of country’s leading songwriters and producers, has died at the age of 79. Norro’s best is known for writing Charlie Rich’s “The Most Beautiful Girl” and “A Very Special Love Song” (a Grammy Winner), but over the years he also worked with Sammy Kershaw, Joe Stampley, Shania Twain, Kenny Chesney, Sara Evans, Margo Smith, Charley Pride and Reba McEntire.

Special kudos to Faith Hill who delivered a wonderful version of our National Anthem at game six of the NHL Hockey Championships this past weekend in Nashville; unfortunately for the home team though the Predators lost to the Penguins later that night to clinch the cup.

As we said yesterday, Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley have agreed to return as co-hosts of the 51st annual CMA Awards, coming up later in the year on November 8th.
