Chris Isaak was born in Stockton, California in 1956, his mom a worker at a potato chip factory, his dad a forklift driver. You might say he came from a blue collar family. Chris was fascinated with rockabilly, a form of rock country born in the late 50s, music made famous by the late Buddy Holly and Memphis trained Sam Phillips singers.
Who could forget that MTV hit “Wicked Game” video in 1989, and the sheer elegance of his vocal range? The song was released and floundered on the charts initially until it was used in the David Lynch film ‘Wild at Heart’ soundtrack, starring Nicolas Cage and Laura Dern that same year.
