Jamie Foxx hopped on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon a few nights back and because of that appearance has seen negative feedback from it. If you really paid attention to his performance on the show then you would realize that many in the deaf community would take issue with what he did on the show.
Two big names in the deaf community are Nyle DiMarco and Marlee Matlin and they have spoken out about the situation. Nyle has come out on Twitter specifically about the situation showing a clip from the appearance and saying, “.@iamjamiefoxx, It is straight up disrespectful to make up sign language. Everything is in gibberish.”
Matlin has come out on social media as well saying, “Mr. @iamjamixfoxx. I’d be happy to give you sign language lessons so you could be funnier.”
