The iconic Eagles song “Hotel California” hit the carts in the 70s with a vengeance. The song solidified the band as one of the most influential folk/rock contributors of their time. Sadly, we’ve lost original member Glenn Frey, but the songs will live on forever.
“Hotel California” is back in the news, but for a reason that may surprise you. It seems that the hotel Todos Santos hotel in Baja California Sur, Mexico has begun to market their properties as “Hotel California” generating legal action by the Eagles for infringement. Not only is the hotel playing up the song name, but they’re blasting Eagles songs on the property! Seems like an interesting situation to us!
Sure the ‘Hotel California’ album cover displays the Beverley Hills Hotel in particular, but song writer Don Henley insists the tune is not about any actual hotel, rather a metaphor about love and life in general.
