In rock and roll there are plenty of dudes. Male lead singers, lead guitarists, drummers, and keyboardists. What about the women though? What were or are the most influential all girl groups?

If we let the Motown Sound play this game, you would have to begin with the Supremes Martha Reeves and the Vandellas. If we brought in NYC and LA in the late 50s and early 60s, you would have to count the Shirelles, Dixie Cups and the Ronettes.

In the early days of rock, Joan Jett, the Go Gos, The Runaways, and the Bangles held down the fort. The pop 80s had the Pointer Sisters.

At the turn of 2000, The Spice Girls, Bananarama, and the Pussycat Dolls all made their contributions to music, while in recent times Destiny’s Child, Salt-n-Pepa, TLC, and En Vogue did their part for sisterhood.

Fifth Harmony was born from the popular TV show ‘The X Factor’ and is on the charts as we speak.
