The Diverse Backgrounds of the Hall of Famers We Love

The 32nd Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held this Friday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn April 7th. The 2017 inductees are Yes, Joan Baez, Electric Light Orchestra, Journey, Pearl Jam, and Tupac Shakur.

There are band and singers in the hall that we consider ‘America’s Blue Collar’ heroes. Imagine the sunny rural Indiana road that inspired John Mellencamp, or the Malibu surf that brought rich harmonies and inspiration to Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys. Steve Miller was born in Milwaukee, but raised is rustic Texas; Neil Diamond was born in a middle class New York City Jewish family.

These rock and roll ‘Hall of Famers’ have diverse backgrounds, but one common purpose; writing great songs and telling the American story.
