Monday’s Opening Day in baseball is a holiday for many. It’s a glorious day that starts off a 162-game season. We’re here to help you enjoy that day even more by preparing your Fantasy lineups on DraftKings! Let’s take a look at three pitchers who you’ll want to strongly consider on Opening Day.

Justin Verlander was a great pitcher in the American League last season who had a good chance at winning the Cy Young last season. This season he opens up with a start in Chicago against the White Sox. The matchup is above average with only Todd Frazier and Jose Abreu as the only power threats. Last season he averaged over 28 Fantasy points per game against them.

If you have the money to spend up on pitching then go head first into Clayton Kershaw as your star pitcher. He faces the San Diego Padres a team not expected to win 70 games. Kershaw is an elite pitcher who averaged over 30 Fantasy points against them in three starts last year.

Jeremy Hellickson is a strong cheap option coming into this slate. He faces a really below average team in the Cincinnati Reds and has had success against them in the past. It’s a risk, but if he can keep Billy Hamilton off the basepaths and Joey Votto away from hitting with runners in scoring position then Hellickson could easily put up 20 Fantasy points in this one.
