You know what it means to ‘cover a song’ right? It’s when an artist records their version of a song written by someone else. More often than not the original song remains the more popular or preferred version; but here are the covers that we believe outdo the originals…

.) “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” Cyndi Lauper/Robert Hazard
.) “I Will Always Love You” Whitney Houston/Dolly Parton
.) “Tainted Love” Soft Cell/Gloria Jones
.) “Landslide” Dixie Chicks/Fleetwood Mac
.) “Hard to Handle” The Black Crowes/Otis Redding
.) “Hazy Shade of Winter” The Bangles/Simon and Garfunkel
.) “Nothing Compares 2U” Sinead O’Connor/Prince
.) ‘If You Don’t Know Me By Now” Simply Red/Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes
.) “Got to Get You Into My Life” Earth Wind & Fire/Beatles

Conclusions: These songs are so good it’s hard to choose between the original and the popular cover. Most people are surprised to hear that ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” “Hazy Shade of Winter” and “Hard to Handle” were moderate hits by the original artists.
