Chris Berman has retired as the host of ESPN’s Sunday Night Countdown, leaving us all to wonder who will be replacing him. Well, rumor has it that Samantha Ponder is a real possibility to host the show this upcoming year.

Ponder has had a ton of success as a sideline reporter for college football on ESPN, but even then the hiring of her would be a surprise. Suzy Kolber and Trey Wingo have a wealth of experience working with NFL on ESPN and are surely considered the favorites for this position.

Ponder is married to former Florida State QB and current NFL quarterback Christian Ponder and has worked hand in hand with Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit over the years with ESPN. Before ESPN she worked with Fox Sports.
