2017 is bound to be a monumental year; we inaugurated a new President, technology is a year older, and the Chicago Cubs begin the 2017 season as the reigning Champion of Major League Baseball.

Life offers moments that are considered bigger than life. What were the biggest moments in rock?

February 9th, 1964 is the date the Beatles made their appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. At that moment, millions of teens were drawn into buying records, throwing artists like Diana Shore, Mitch Miller, Doris Day and Percy Faith off the charts. The Beatles made future musicians pick up an electric guitar and write richer songs.

July 25th, 1965 is the date every rocker will remember as Jimi Hendrix stepped on stage at Woodstock and played our National Anthem. The Woodstock Music Festival was memorable enough, but this was the first time our traditional national song was played for kids.

August 1st, 1981 at 12:01am a new music channel on cable known as MTV began broadcasting, playing the Buggle’s “Video Killed the Radio Star” changing how music was packaged and sold forever.
