Five years ago Taylor Swift released a track that we don’t necessarily remember as much as we should. The song was titled “Safe & Sound” and it was done with The Civil Wars, a country band. This his was released five years ago this week off the soundtrack of “The Hunger Games: Songs from District 12 and Beyond.”

“Safe & Sound” was loved for its simplicity and great lyrics. We know we love every part of this hit! It would receive award nominations from the Grammys, CMAs and Golden Globes among others. Because of the collaboration between Taylor and The Civil Wars, it would be nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance, but would lose out to Little Big Town. Instead, it would take home the Grammy for Best Song Written for Visual Media.

As for the charts, well it would only reach number 30 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and its best finish around the globe would be 11th in New Zealand. Even then, this hit from Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars was great enough to take home a Grammy, an amazing honor.
