Bachman–Turner Overdrive was a driving rock force that began in the early 70s from Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada, and started a musical fire that spread all through the land. The band released 10 studio, 5 Live, and 11 compilation albums over the years. Here are our favorite BTO tunes…

“You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet” proved to be a popular yet controversial song. The catchy hook and clean guitar made it a radio smash (the length was perfect for Top 40 stations) by the stuttering raised protests in the disabled world, and educators baulked at the word ‘ain’t.’

“Blue Collar” was the band’s first big hit, although played only on progressive FM stations in the beginning, and then shortened to get airplay on pop radio. The song is a tribute to the working class bums like them, and featured the incredible jazz/rock stylings of Randy Bachman.

“Taking Care of Business” is considered to be one of the most influential rock songs of its day. While with the Guess Who, Randy Bachman played an earlier version of the song to Burton Cummings, and Burton threw him out of the room because he thought the song was so close to a Beatles’ song. They would get sued.
