Recently, Serena Williams spoke out against a topic that she clearly cares a lot about, sexism in sports. This is very relevant to her every day life because she’s a star female athlete in tennis.

She wrote a letter that was published by Porter Magazine and The Guardian in which she spoke out against the double standards that women have to go through in sports. She wrote that women are always told that they are women and not men. Serena also doesn’t appreciate the fact that many call her one of the greatest female athletes instead of being called one of the greatest athletes period. She cited athletes like Tiger Woods and LeBron James saying that they are never classified by their gender while women are.

The letter from Serena was quite interesting and one you should definitely take a look at if you have the chance.
