Drake’s First Ever AMA Win

Drake went into last night’s American Music Awards with a whopping 13 nominations, so he was surely going to win his first AMA of his career at this event. Well, he won more than his first award, taking home four in total because of his great work this past year.

Drake couldn’t take down the biggest award of the night, Artist of the Year, but he dominated the rap/hip hop categories. There were three awards designated for rap/hip hop specifically and he won all three: Favorite Artist, Favorite Album and Favorite Song. We aren’t surprised one bit considering how great his latest album, “Views,” and his nominated single, “Hotline Bling,” were.

The fourth and final award Drake won last night was for Favorite Song – Soul/R&B. He was featured on the Rihanna song, “Work,” that would win that award.
