Recently President Barack Obama announced 21 winners of the Presidential Medal of Honor and there are more than a few stars that we know and love receiving this honor. Tom Hanks, Robert De Niro and Ellen DeGeneres are the three biggest names in Hollywood that are being called out in a positive way by the president.
This award is given to those who have made contributions to helping the United States when it comes to security or other national interests like world peace. These three names are well deserving of this honor if you ask us.
Hanks is a big time advocate for justice for our veterans after they come back from war while Ellen DeGeneres is one of the biggest fighters for equality for all people.
Some of the other winners of this award include Maya Lin, Richard Garwin, Frank Gehry and Newt Minow among many others.
