Green Day’s Number One Album

We’ve talked a lot about Green Day’s emergence back onto the scene and this wek they’ve officially accomplished an astonishing feat. After being unseen on the charts in recent years, the band can say they have themselves another number one album!

Green Day’s “Revolution Radio” has reached number one on the Billboard 200 chart after selling 95,000 album units this past week. What a debut it was for the album and band mates, Mike Dirnt, Tre Cool and Billie Joe Armstrong.

Green Day has twice before generated a number one album, but it’s been many years since that accomplishment. In 2009 their album, “21st Century Breakdown,” reached number one while their album “American Idiot” did the same in 2004.
