Forbes consistently puts out entertaining and mind blowing lists and their latest one has us in shock. Not necessarily because we can’t believe who is on the list, but how all of these artists are making so much money! The recent Forbes list ranks deceased artists and who has made the most in the past year. Can you guess who ranks number one?
Michael Jackson made a whopping $825 million this past year even though he wasn’t alive to see it! Not every deceased celebrity made a ton of money this past year though. In second place was Charles Schulz, the creator of Peanuts. He earned $48 million this past year.
So, what caused Michael to make so much money? Well, $750 million was from the sale of his portion of the Beatles catalogue to Sony. He made a great move purchasing it for $47.5 million back in 1984. Michael would then sell half of the catalogue to Sony for $115 million before selling the final half of it this past year.
