Cliff Richard has recently been in the news because of his lawsuit against the BBC and South Yorkshire Police. You could not have missed the sex-crime allegations against him that have recently been cleared. We’re sure he’s happy to have that nightmare over.

Cliff has even more positive news to talk about these days. He made news this week by announcing that he is about to release an album of ‘covers,’ and we’re pretty excited about it! Elvis, Beatles, Stones and best of the 60s, 70s and 80s rock staples will be covered in this new album, due out just in time for the holiday gift giving. While we’re talking about Cliff, did you know that his birth name is actually Harry?

He was born Harry Rodger Webb in India in 1948 before eventually moving to London where he began to play music to entertain his mom and dad. After a moderately successful start in the business, a friend suggested he change is last name to Richard, in honor of Little Richard – the Cliff portion just came up. Hello Cliff Richard!

In the late 60s at the tender age of 18, after Harry changed his name to Cliff, he enjoyed great success with a group called the Drifters – no not those drifters, but the European Drifters.

Cliff Richard has sold over 250 million records worldwide, and has the notoriety of being the only rocker ever to have a number one song in the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s. His biggest US songs were “Devil Woman,” and “We Don’t Talk Anymore.”

Led Zeppelin’s Robert Plant has committed to being at half […]
