Dustin Johnson had himself an amazing 2015-2016, notching his first major win to go along with two more wins. Who could forget his big win the U.S. Open, or his wins at the BMW Championship and Bridgestone Invitational? With those three wins under his belt, it should come as no surprise that the PGA Tour award Dustin Johnson the Jack Nicklaus Award, given to the sport’s player of the year.
The voting process is a unique one that we think should be adopted by other sports. The winner was determined by golfers who participated in 15 or more PGA Tour events this past year. What an honor it is for Dustin to win an award given out basically by those he played against all year long!
The PGA Tour tweeted out Tuesday “From Jack to DJ. The Jack Nicklaus Trophy” with a picture of the two holding the trophy given to Dustin.
