Life happens quickly and never according to script. The day the music died according to singer songwriter Don McClean was the moment Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper, and Ritchie Valens went down in their small plain near Clear Lake Iowa.

Lynyrd Skynyrd had a tragedy occur to them. Among the casualties were front man Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist and vocalist Steve Gaines, Gaine’s sister, back ground singer Cassie Piolit, and co-pilot and road manager. The album that was released at the very same time of the tragedy had a fire background which the record label quickly swapped out. The band disbanded for over 12 years Ronnie Van Zant’s younger brother Johnny stepped in as lead singer.

The Allman Brothers were on the rise until Duane decided to hit a truck in Macon, Georgia then a year later Berry Oakley did the same silly thing, stopping the band stopped cold. The band unanimously decided to carry on and released Brothers and Sisters to critical acclaim.
