Serena Williams’ Tough Weekend

Serena Williams is widely considered as one of the greatest female tennis players ever and quite possibly the greatest female athlete period. Unfortunately for her and her fans, her time as the greatest for the time being is likely over. At the age of 34, she’s past her prime but has been quite impressive nonetheless.

Her reign as the number one player in the world is over with her loss this weekend. She has handed over that ranking to Angelique Kerber, who recently won the US Open.

September is a special month for Serena as she turns 35 on the 26th and actually celebrates her 21st year as a professional tennis player on the 24th. Serena currently owns 22-time grand slam wins in her time as a career.
