Ro James has been battling for the top spot on the Mediabase Urban AC chart for weeks now and can finally say that “Permission” is a number one hit. It jumped Maxwell’s “Lake By the Ocean” for the top spot after sitting at number two last week. It’s lead is actually fairly sizable with a 272-spin lead over the song for that number one position. Yuna and Usher’s “Crush” rounds out the top three.
Only one artist/song saw an improvement from last week to this week, in terms of spins, and that was Alicia Keys’ “In Common.” Thus, it made the jump from eight to six on the chart.
