Last week we saw California play Hawaii out in Australia, but it’s Thursday that marks the true beginning of college football. There are 16 games happening in FBS football with a few major programs playing. Let’s take a look at a few of the biggest games of the night.

Louisville comes in as a top 25 team and has the opportunity to make some noise in the ACC this season. It’ll all start as they face Charlotte, a newer team to the FBS. Lamar Jackson, the Cardinals’ quarterback, has elite speed and could be the next great dual threat quarterback in football. He alone is enough reason to watch this one.

Tennessee faces off against Appalachian State, a team known for a major upset, but could it happen again? Tennessee comes in ranked number nine and 20-point favorites. Josh Dobbs and Jalen Hurd will be doing their best to keep them from turning into the Michigan of 2016.

South Carolina and Vanderbilt is a matchup between two unranked teams, but might be the best overall matchup on the night. This SEC matchup has a spread around three and the chance at being a low scoring game. We doubt it’ll be high scoring, but we’re sure it’ll be a close one.
